Performance Analysis

Starting with the CPU cooler performance and a delta T of 53°C is somewhat higher than the 47°C recorded by Corsair's similar H115i Pro RGB cooler while producing similar noise levels, which ramp up to audible levels at full speed. As we mentioned earlier, the cooler is almost certainly hampered by the poor ventilation behind it. Had the cooler been removed and tested in our usual cooler test case, it would likely see better results, but case and cooler come combined so it's important to test both in unison as they are out-of-the-box.

The GPU delta T of 53°C was reasonable, but still a long way behind the best results on test that dip into the low 40s and this is likely due to the fact that despite the case sporting four 140mm fans - usually a combination that would offer excellent cooling, the air from three of these is bent around and pushed out the far side panel. There's also the matter of poor air ventilation into the case hindering performance here, too. It's not a terrible result, but it's certainly worse than we'd expect given the quartet of included fans.

Conclusion

We don't think we've seen so many polar opposites in a case before. The design and cooling system has moments of brilliance that make us want to mod our own cases to revisit front-mounted tube reservoirs. There are so many garish examples of this but Deepcool has nailed it. The overall design of the case is great too, with good use of tempered glass and illumination.

However, there are some issues with the case that need to be addressed before we'd recommend it. The lack of dust filters for intake areas other than the PSU is essential, especially as the case has four powerful 140mm fans all acting as exhausts building up a large amount of negative air pressure and drawing dust into the case. The intake vents and those for the radiator exhaust need to be larger, too, as these almost certainly hurt it in our testing. We'd also like to see the hard-disk bays accessible without having to remove the entire front panel.

We can only praise Deepcool for sticking with the pre-installed liquid cooling feature and improving it, and it's certainly done that - the Gamer Storm New Ark 90 looks fantastic. However, there's still work to be done with the case to bring it up to modern standards, to make the most of its cooling and to be worthy of the lofty price tag.
